transmission swap questions
Currently have a 1988 jeep comanche with a 5.3 swap mated to a jeep ax15 trans. Just bought the new tremec TKX transmission and have been researching the best way to mate it up to my LS. I have a 621 ls bell housing. My main concerns are with the clutch and flywheel. Currently I have the sachs 1050 fw in order to make up the .4 distance issue. I know I can reuse that with the tkx but I plan on building the engine to around 450 ish HP and revving up to 6ishK. Should that be okay with that flywheel or should I drop the money on a sfi rated one? My other question is what clutch to use. I was pretty set on the whole LS7 clutch kit but have found a lot of negative stuff about it. So the new plan is to use a Mcleod superstreet pro single disc. This will be mainly a street car with spiriting driving. Im not looking to spend $800+ on a clutch. Just a good DD set up. I will be using a tilton throw out if that makes a diffence. thanks
