Default Please help!? Conversion 1993 4l60E standalone

Hello all just going to share my project needing some help with it, going to be doing some mods would like some help. I've been looking intently at schaffer shifters because the wiring harness i picked up from the junk yard doesn't work with my Transmisson. 6.0 liter LQ4 317 heads and its from a chevy express, plan on saving money by NOT buying a newer trans and just shifting the trans myself because the harness I have will only seem to work with a 4l80e and I'm inclined to think I can run the vehicle without transmission controller from factory cause it won't work with a 4l60e, especially a 1993 4l60e! Share your thoughts any thing please I'm looking to see if this works cause I've seen people do standalone wiring junkyard harness on there is engines and had no problem it seems for just a standalone for the engine! Also I plan on drag racing this vehicle thought for sure a schaffer shifter would help with more tunable shifts for better or worse.

Here's my goal. To create something like this. But pin outs I heard vary from transmission to transmission. 1993 seems like people say it's different. https://m.roadkillcustoms.com/how-to...anual-shifter/

I suppose that would work, but seems like a lot of work, then to have to shift it all the time doesn't sound appealing to me. Why not have the PCM tuned for a 4l60 and repin the harness and not have to mess with it again? Also, does it have a 4l60e? I thought '93 they were still using 700r4's?

as previous owner of a couple “performance 4l60e” transmissions, save some $ and get a 4l80e. 4l60e’s are junk. I had one that was rated for 900hp from a company that’s got a killer warranty and it burned the clutch packs after 1000 miles. Engine made 595 to the rear tires. They are fine for high power lightweight race cars.. but if you honestly plan on drag racing a truck, it won’t last. Just my 2 cents though.

go to lt1swap.com.

this is a how to on converting a 4l60e plug to work with a 4l80e... so I’d imagine you’d be able to do the opposite to convert your 4l80e plug pins to work with a 60.
