I just bought a 71 Lemans and I'm looking at a 96 firebird as a donor car. Is the firebird a good choice as the donor? Can I use the disk brakes and the rear end in my 71?

 

Welcome aboard! Great looking Lemans. The 96’ F-body’s didn’t have the LS engine, so the donor engine would be a Gen2 Small block 350. Disk brakes will not be a bolt in setup. Adapters might be available, but it wouldn’t be worth the hassle. Aftermarket disc setups are engineered for the weight and size of your car, and would be a bolt on deal.
