Default O2 Sensor out...OK to Drive?

I was changing my O2 Sensors (LS3/430) and one came out real hard, and i couldn't get the new one going in. Threads are mucked up I believe. I purchased a thread chaser, and couldn't get it to start. So, I need to take to a muffler shop and have them weld in a new bun.

Would it be a problem to drive it up to the shop, abut 8 miles? I did start it...started a bit hard, ran a bit rough. but ran.

Just wondering if I would be well advised to use a tow truck rather than drive it up.

It "should be" as long as the tune is close. With the 02 sensor out/unplugged it's going to run in open loop(if the tune is setup for CL) It can only compensate so much anyway in CL.

You are in OL on startup and at WOT.

What I'm saying is, I'd drive it.

As above post is correct, it shouldnt hurt anything driving it as long as the open hole dosent catch anything on fire. I’m sure you will get a check engine light too...

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the support provided.

The hole isn't pointed at anything I worry about catching fire.

I'm not sure if the tunei is set up for CL. I think I will contact the shop that did the tuning. They are a sponser here and an excellent resource.
