2010-2015 Camaro LS3 in 63 Nova
Im going to join the crowd and LS my Nova. Im obviously not the first but I’m not seeing many using the 2010-2015 Camaro drivetrains. Is there a reason for that? I plan to use the manual trans and keep the factory controller and use EFI Live that I already have. I see the speedometer dilemma and got some things to consider from threepedals.com. Are there downsides, interchangeability issues? I know I’ll have to run the pedal, change the fuel tank, etc etc. but I’m seeing more swaps with earlier LS’s than with this drivetrain. My biggest concern is where the shifter is going to end up on the tunnel. I see it can be moved from its semi remote location forward which I think would help me greatly as I have aftermarket bucket seats and plenty of room and no console but I obviously want the shifter to be close to a comfortable spot. I am not seeing any dimensions on that trans anywhere.
The reason not many use fifth gen Camaro drivetrains is because they are more expensive, plus truck drivetrains (5.3and 6.0) are FAR more common and WAY cheaper.
