What wire to use for engine harness? So I'm prepping an LS2 and 4l70e for a swap and I've started messing with the wiring harness. I wanted to extend and re-do a few sections (harness came out of a trailblazer and I wanted to relocate the wires that go across the top of the intake). I work in a car audio shop and we have a lot of wire I can take, but it's all very fine strand (and the quality of the wire has dropped since we came back from quarantine. Their 16 gauge is now more like 18 gauge), plus, my color selection is limited. Does anyone have a recommendation for a supplier? Any specific properties (heat resistant sheathing, etc) I should look for?

Please don't use the speaker wire. You need to have an automotive grade wire that can withstand the heat of an engine bay. Look at a GXL or TXL wire. Or better yet, just strip the harness of all the unnecessary wiring first and then use the wires you delete to splice in.
I have found that buying a used LS harness from a junkyard is a great, cheap way to get access to high quality wire, connectors, etc. Just cut out what you need, always good to have spares on hand such as the PCM pins, etc.

Yeah I was trying to avoid having a bunch of splices in my harness. I knew there were companies that sold pins to build your own harness, just wasn't sure what the name of the wire used in engine bays was. Thanks guys
What vehicle is the motor going it? I ask, because if you are going to put it in any swap vehicle where OBD2 isn't required, I would ditch the stock ECU and go with Holley. Comes with a brand new harness and a more adaptable ECU.
