Default Fox Swap - Which Mounts Do I Need?

Hi everyone, I’ve been searching but can’t seem to find a straight answer. There are so many variations I’m afraid to order the wrong ones.....

I would greatly appreciate any and all help. I was about to order some mounts but got kinda confused with the many varieties!!!

Check the Holley LS swap catalog. Fairmonts/Zephyrs and Mustangs of similar years are both built on the Fox body platform. Look for swap parts for 79-93 Mustangs and they should fit Fairmont/Zephyr bodies with little if any modification.

Thanks for the reply, but if you actually look in the engine bay you’ll noticed the car has a tubular k member with built in non modular Ford engine mount locations. I’m trying to see if anyone’s seen this k member and can suggest which of the LS engine mounts would hang on this. Clamshell with those adjustable plates? Those BRP Style mounts?

I took a gamble on these and hope the engine half of these mounts will work with what’s built into my car.

It was previously a turbo 5.3/4L60 car from Connecticut. I recently picked it up as a roller. Am putting an aluminum gen 4 5.3 with a TH350 in it for the season. Already have a GT45 and various turbo parts for it.

Looks like an AJE K-member to me. The triangulated engine stands on that K-member and the LS engine mounting brackets they sell for use with it place the crankshaft centerline in a non-stock proprietary offset position (closer to the centerline of the car than the stock offset). If those mounting brackets you've purchased happen to allow you to land the engine onto the stands and install the coupling bolts into them, you will need to perform a string line/plumb bob layout of the car to ensure the crankshaft/transmission output shaft centerline runs parallel to the chassis centerline. You will then need to ensure your transmission crossmember picks up the transmission mount at that side-to-side location. You will also need to verify that the engine/transmission inclination angle will provide you with desirable U-joint working angles. I personally wouldn't use mounting brackets that have slots for the engine mount coupling bolts in both brackets instead of holes, unless it turns out that the both of the bolts end up being located in the inner most or outer most extents of the slots when installed. If they end up anywhere else along the length of the slots it will allow the engine mounting position to shift left or right in use.

Ahhh amazing info bro, thank you so much. That didn’t even occur to me. I cancelled the motor mount order but now I have to find and order something that will work with those mount locations. I’ll look into AJE.

Got the new AJE Mounts from Summit Racing. No bueno. They are about 1/8th of an inch off. I’ll probably shave the bushings a touch to make it work. But it’s close enough so I’ll do that, get some bolts and round up the rest of my swap parts to make this thing run. I’ll post pics eventually.
