key hot wire issues

key hot wire issues My first LS swap....2004 LM7 into a '71 C10......i reworked the harness as per LT1swap guide....my key hot wire for the ignition relay is the issue....with the relay pulled from the fuse block, the stock key hot terminal i chose works as it should, on when key is on and off when key is off....when i plug in the relay and turn the key on it energizes the pcm and the truck will run but it never shuts the power off when the key is turned off, i have to disconnect the battery....i've tried a new relay and a new location for the key hot and same issue....somehow this is getting power from the battery when the key is turned on but it never closes the circuit...the engine doesn't have to be running for this to happen, it happens when i just hook up the battery and turn the key and then off, at first i was thinking it was back feeding from the alternator but thats not it....any advise please, i've searched the forums and the internet and can't find any help

If you remove the relay from the socket, does the "key on power" terminal (85 or 86)of the socket have no voltage with key off? Does it have 12v with key on? If you remove the relay while the engine is running does it shut the engine off? If it does there is an issue in the swap harness Double check your harness .
