Default HELP - '99 LS1 No crank No start - MAF problem?

I have '99 Corvette LS1 in my project car and never had any problems starting until now. I should also say its push-button start. Tried to start it yesterday and just when it began to fire, it stopped.
Tried again and nothing. The start button is supposed to flash on/off when the brake is depressed, but that doesn't even happen now. I never touched the ignition box wiring or button wiring.
The car is not completed yet, so I have the negative battery cable disconnected most of the time. What's weird is when I attach the negative cable to battery, there's a very faint high-pitched whine coming from the mass airflow sensor (MAF). The whine lasts about 2-3 seconds then stops. The sensor is new.

Anybody have thoughts on this?

MAF sensor isn't your issue. Are you working with a good battery? Start by checking the relays fuses, ground connections and make sure the brake switch isn't the issue.

Thanks 01Camaro. The battery is always on a charger, so it's okay. Fuel relays and ignition fuses are also okay. The brake switch is so cheesy I guess that's the next check. Thanks for the reply.
