Trying to help a friend who just got his car back half *** finished by a shop. It’s a 6.0 Lq9 in a 70’ nova. He sent me this pic of his starter and just want to make sure it’s correct on.
I know the purple is good as it is the signal wire
the two red wires are what I believe is one from the standalone harness and the other is from the stock bulkhead
the big red gage is from Bat+
but the black one that’s attached to the terminal with the strap from solenoid to starter is what I’m unsure about. This one I believe goes to the back of the starter which should also be on the bat+ terminal right? Or should it stay on the terminal it’s currently on? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Do you know where the black cable is going? If it's your alternator power line then it definitely needs to be on the B+ terminal. I don't think anything should ever be on the starter side since it would only be hot while cranking.
