Default CPP LS3 coolant plumbing

Hello All,
I am in progress of installing a CPP LS3 into my E36 M3. I will not have a heater core in the car so was planning to loop these connections on the motor. That said, do i need to run a surge and/overflow tank or just add a in-line filler neck and call it a day?

You can run an inline filler in the top hose and call it a day, if you want.
