6l80 tutd Im wanting to swap a LS3/6L80e into an older vehicle and want to keep tap up/tap down feature.
1) obviously I will need the shifter from donor vehicle.
2) can the shifter be wired directly into the TCM or will I also need the BCM to communicate through LAN

Zero gravity performance / PCS make a harness you can use. They have instructions for their paddle shifters on their website to see how all the wiring could play out.
Depending what it came from you might need to make sure TUTD is enabled in the tune. Will also depend what harness you are using and whether they put the relevant wire in.
TL;DR- Ask whoever is making your harness.
