Firebird LS swap Hi Guys
its andy again from the UK, i now have an LS1 taken from a 99 corvette which i want to put into my 75 firebird. The engine is going to be rebuilt before it goes in. My question is am i going to run into my fitment issues? For example it comes complete with its stock headers so i wanted to swap these out but haven’t a clue which ones will fit, also this motor has a batwing oil pan fitted, is this compatible? Also it has its A/C compressor still fitted will this hit the subframe?

Short story it will fit. Tons of swap parts out on the market. Bat wing is a no go. Most 2002 Fbody oil pan. AC won't fit unless you notch the frame or mount it up high. Again tons of headers that fit. I doubt the C5 headers will work but you could try.

While I totally agree with HOLLEYs swap parts are the way to go, a cheaper Roy would be generic 1inch setback swap plates and Doug’s Headers LS swap headers. Doug’s sells their own swap plates to aid in proper engine placement. Fits the floorboard tight.
if Holleys’ system was out when I started my swap (not done yet)7 I would of used everything Holley.
