E36 ls1 ac
hope this helps someone-
first I tried a mini sanden ac compressor kit for ls swaps… it kept throwing belts.
so I went to the old oem f body compressor and cast mount which has an idler and a tensioner.
I used the oem f body hard ac manifold that connects to the back of the compressor
I cut the compressor hard lines and al soldered on fittings to mate up to the bimmer lines.
I had already soldered in a gm pressure switch
the F body ac compressor hit the psgr frame rail.. but I solved this by massaging the leading edge of the frame rail w a bmfh…. And I took a sanding disc to all the mounting points on the ac comp to bracket and bracket to block. This gave me about 1/4” clearance.
not enough for the oem connector…. So from advice here I snipped the plastic shroud off the connector on the compressor body, then soldered on two wires…. Filled the gap s high temp silicone and heat shrink the wires.
ac blows nice and cool now.
