LS3 short block with ls1 top end

LS3 short block with ls1 top end If anyone has some knowledge i would appreciate it. Bought a 240sx swapped with ls1 engine.Engine compression is bad, Needs rebuild. I can get an LS3 short block for $2800. Can i swap the LS3 block in plug n play or do i need to make adjustments with a new PCM engine Harness? I was told all i would need is to swap out the reluctor wheel to 24x, The ls1 accessory drive and oil pan/pick up tube would swap over.
The Ls1 top end is tsp 243 ported and polished heads with ls6 manifold...I can also get the complete ls3 long block for$4500,But i figure i would have to redo the engine harness and get a PCM.

The bigger displacement breathing through the same top end will result in the powerband moving to slightly lower rpm.
In addition to the reluctor wheel, the cam sensor and cam sprocket need to be correct.

You'll need to either swap reluctor rings, or get the 58x to 24x conversion box. Then you'll need to get a 3 bolt 1x cam gear from an LS2, to give you the cam sensor. Then just bolt everything from you're going to reuse from the LS1 on the new short block. You'll also want to get a new tune because your VE table will be skewed.
