Red face 1999 S10 - LS Turbo Swap

Good Day Everyone,

Ive done my fair share of searching and googling and even been on some book of faces groups So looking for a bit of Clarification/Advice/Help.

I bought a 99S10 5spd Manual, looking to LS Swap, Have a Holley EFI and Digital Dash to go with it, 1200 CC Snake Eater Injectors, BW S488 Turbo, ARP Head Studs. BTR Stage 2 Turbo Cam with Springs and Retainers. And some other Mics. Things.

So looking for a "Turbo Kit" that will fit with the least amount of work.

From what I have gathered is that the Steering shaft hits the driver side exhaust manifold. Some say run it inverted, Others say forward facing. So not really clear enough for my smooth brain.

I have a set of GM LS Turbo Headers that are V-Band, But no Cross Over Tube, ect.

Question 1:
Can I run these and Will the Driver Side Manifold Clear the steering shaft?
Amazon Amazon

Question 2:
Will The Hooker Kit Work Better?

I know there will be a certain amount of "Fabrication" work required, but just trying to get my ducks in a row before I get too deep into this.

I'm going to tell you, doing a turbo on a S10 isn't easy. There's no manifold that will fit unless you go up. Things get tight with steering shaft and also accessories.
If you pull the abs and inner fenders, you gain a little, and if you forward mount the radiator, you gain a little.
I am building a 94 with twins. I had a single, but I wanted a full exhaust, and there wasn't room for a sufficient downpipe, so I swapped to twins.

I've "heard" some people say those kit types you linked will "fit", but I've never once seen pictures and I looked and looked for years, which makes me believe they don't fit, or you would see several of them.

That's kinda what I read some say they will work some say they won't.

I am fine with no exhaust as it will only be driven a few times a month and main purpose will be track stuff.

I'm gonna throw it in tomorrow with the Forward Facing manifolds and can see what will be required for the rest and I'll report back with pictures.

I do like the single manifold set up, I have that on my silverado and it worked great!

So I guess New problem I found just now,

The LS Motor Mounts I bought from Dirty Dingo (4wd) do NOT Fit a ZR2.

Does anyone know where I can find ZR2 LS Motor Mounts, Current Performance has a set, but seems to be sold out.

I can't really help much on mounts. I know there are probably a few swaps on the S10 forum now that are ZR2, but don't know for sure. I swapped mine 10 years ago, and there was virtually nothing at that point. I had Current build my harness back then and as great as it was, I'll say it probably wasn't as good as what they do now with more experience. Jared (Current Performance owner) has always been great though. You could always call and ask about the mounts. I know he likes to have them built in batches.
