Default Venting fbody plastic tank

I have a Datsun 280z that I am swapping a 5.3/single turbo into with Terminator X. I am using the stock 2000 fbody plastic fuel tank that has everything intact. I hope to greatly simplify the EVAP/venting system. I would prefer to not have a gas smell and also prefer to have a passive system that doesn't need to be controlled or run up to the engine.

See image below. What I am hoping to do is leave the over-pressure line (orange) and vent lines (green) as stock. What I am wondering is, can I remove the EVAP vent solenoid (purple X) and simply run the vent line to atmosphere (red)?

This way, I believe the vapors would be allowed to freely exit the tank, but the charcoal canister should remove most (all?) the fuel smell. Do I have this correct? Nothing would be running up to the engine.

Is this setup sufficient to allow for pumping gas at a normal rate into the fill tube? Is it also sufficient to allow air to enter the tank so the tank doesn't have negative pressure while the engine is consuming fuel at WOT?
Would I need a breather or something else at the end of the tube going to atmosphere?

Thanks for any comments

I don't know the answer to all your questions, but do have a suggestion. Another member and I run the "II MUCH" vent filter - LINK. Works like a champ to eliminate odors. However, from their website, it looks like they have a LONG backlog for shipment. Depending on how long your build will take, you may want to order now or find it from a reseller.

Run that red one out to the atmosphere and put something on the end of it so nothing can get in and block it (bugs, etc). It'll be fine for use and for filling up.

I recommend a roll-over valve.

Native state of the solenoid vent valve is "open". Just leave that valve alone and it will always vent through charcoal canister.

The only wiring you need is pump and level sender. You could monitor that pressure sensor if you have the I/O in your ECM. You'd have to look at the part number, but I think it's just an LS1 MAP sensor, if my memory serves me (which sometimes it doesn't).

Thanks everyone for your comments. Of the 2 vent valves, white and black, do either one have roll over protection? I thought maybe the white one did. Can I replace the factory vent valve with an anti roll over version or do I have to put one on the end of the tube? If tube, which one? And then I would assume that I need to have the end of the tube pointed directly up?
