I don't think it's 60HP over another automatic. Maybe over a stick. It takes more HP to accelerate a bigger torque converter, but once you're cruising, it doesn't matter. If you told me that you found an Aluminum 6.0 and 4l60 combo, Id' say go with that. But this a known good combo. Maybe a smaller converter, but not required.

Yeah, that is pretty much what I have read. A little banging and different fittings. I was leaning to the 60 only because I could get a rebuilt/warrantied one for about the same cost and not have to worry about weight or things fitting. Hard to pass up a near new factory built one though.
