Default V6 (lfx)

Starting a new project, this time a '32 Ford roadster and toying with the idea of using a Camaro V6 engine (about 2015). Quick search and there are a bunch of the V6 engines for sale out of an Impala at around $800 BUT the same year Camaro engine is $1700. Think the Impala is FWD and don't know about the bolt pattern. Any input would be welcomed.

Thanks, lots of good info. Have not been able to fine a stand-alone harness yet. Lots of questions and no answers. May save myself headaches by just going with an LS gen 3 or 4.

I’ve been running an LFX in my 66 Chevelle for years and it’s been a great engine. While I modded the factory harness for my project, there are aftermarket, standalone harnesses available.

I just drove my truck back home from mechanics shop today. Had a used LFX installed in my 2015 Canyon. Head gasket went out @ 209,000 miles. The used one has 40,000 that came out of a 2015 Canyon. I beat the heck out of truck every time I drive it so a couple grand more for a used low mile one was a no brainer for me at least. $2k more for used motor vs doing a head gasket.
Good luck with your build

No telling how worn the rest of the old engine was either. You did the right thing.

I've made some standalone harnesses for them pretty simple. I can send you my spreadsheet if you want to build your own.
