Default 350z LS Swap

Hello all. To get straight to the point, I plan on Ls swapping my 2004 Nissan 350z. It has been a lovely car in the time I have owned it, but I'm looking for a little bit more power. While I could build up the VQ motor in it, I'm just not a V6 person. I am looking to make 500-600 rwhp by the end of the build for a pretty solid street / drift car on the weekends.

I'm not 100% sure on the details but I'm looking at rebuilding either a 4.8 or 5.3 truck motor in a turbo setup. Most of the fab work like brackets, mounts, piping, wiring, etc I will be doing myself.

The thing is, I'm not too experienced with working on these engines, and I'm curious as to what exactly the experts here would recommend to properly refresh a junkyard or old motor. Besides things like rehoning, new gaskets and rings, what do I need do to get a reliable engine that can handle my power goals. Obviously it will come down to an inspection of the engine and seeing what needs replacing, but I just want a rough idea.

Also, because I am on a budget, is there any "rebuild kits" or package bundles that are recommended to get all the parts I need for a little bit cheaper, without sacraficing reliability, as this will also be my daily.

Thanks for the time and I will try to keep the thread updated with my progress. This is my first swap and I'm still not exactly sure that I know what I am doing!

Okay so I think I have finalized my parts list, let me know what you guys think. I plan on picking up a 5.3 and ordering everything this weekend.

Transmission:
-Collins Adapter to mate LS to CD009 Link
-Diamond Stage 3 Clutch Kit (special ordered to fit CD009 Spline) Link
-New Clutch Line
-T56 Slave Cylinder
-T56 Bellhousing

Engine/Fuel
-Junkyard LM7
-PAC 1218 Valve Springs
-DEKA 80# Injectors
-MLS Head Gaskets
-ARP Head Bolts
-Sloppy Stage 2 Cam
-350z Ls Swap Oil Pan Link
-LS6 Intake (Only if truck intake doesn't fit, will need to test)
-Dual 255 Walbro fuel pumps or a single 340
-Oil Filter relocation kit

Then I will be ordering all new some universal stainless steel pipes, an x-pipe, two mufflers, two cutouts, and some dual tips to fab a dual 2.5in exhaust with four tailpipes.

Turbo kit will either be the billet or cast 7875 from VSRacing. I'm unsure if I should run a typical pump gas setup with the intercooler, or run e85 no intercooler with larger fuel pumps/injectors.

Oh and a set of AEM Gauges for Boost and AFR.

No, I’ve been meaning to make one tho. I had a cammed 5.3 in for a few years. Then I boosted it, drove that for a year until a bearing spun. Then I bought a cheap cheap junkyard 6.0l and threw that in a year or so ago. Not trying to high Jack your thread but here are some pictures

This is how it sits in its current form. 6.0l and a 78/78 turbo
