5.3 TR6060 air gap?

Default 5.3 TR6060 air gap?

I am working a swap using a 2001 5.3 and a TR6060 out of a 2018 Camaro. I am running the LS7 clutch and flywheel with the stock slave cylinder. Test fitting evyerthing and I have attached a photo of the air gap, which seem large to me. Do I need to shim the slave? I have found info a spacer by Katech when coverting a CTS-V from a dual mass flywheel to this set up. Appreciate any advise

So been researching and trying to figure air gap and understand how it should be properly set up. I realize Im building frankenstien, but not the first. I used the old slave and dissasemled it and remove spring so I could obtain the distance from the mating surface of trans to face of compressed slave. That distance was 4.887.

I then meassured the distance from mating surface of block to fingers on pressure plate: 3.382

I have read several post which say the concentric slave should touch the fingers, but also have found post stating there should be air gap.

With it installed as pictured above and the salve assembled and fully extended the distance from the trans mounting surface to face of slave is 3.785 Clearly with the slave fully extended it has no travel and needs to be slightly compressed.

I need a spacer clearly, but am lost on how much, really need some help or direction. Thank you

i used the bottom video to space mine but id watch them both. Also tick perfor has a video on their adjustable master and how to measure.

Thanks for reply! I have found out GM had two different slaves for these trans. I have ordered the LUK LSC566 which is clearly taller and appears to be the correct one to use with single mass flywheel. I will update once I have it.

Well apparently GM made two different slaves. The one for single mass is considerably taller. Got that one and believe problem solved.

Did that slave cylinder bolt right up? I am doing a similar swap with a 2016+ TR6060 and picked up that same part number when I saw your thread, but it’s a little different.

Air gap is wrong. The diaphragm fingers are in constant contact with the throwout bearing.
