Swap Excuse me for my ignorance, I'm learning g though
so my wife went out and bought a s197 with a ls and a 4l60e. The motor was bad so I bought a 05 or 06 5.3 out of a surbaban. I'm looking at getting a th400 for it since she wants to use it for drag racing.. my question what all will I need to make this car drive and be safe on the track?

My suggestion is for you to formulate a better game plan before asking for help, things like what's your budget, what's your skill level, what equipment do you have, what's the exact goal. There's tons of information here and a lot of members that are willing to help, but, in my lowly opinion, most aren't willing to spoon feed people, including me. You need to do more work on your own, other than "what all will I need to make this car drive and be safe on the track?" May sound harsh, but it is what it is.

Since I've made this post I've done a lot of research and got a game plan. I bought a 5.3 with 112k miles, bought a th400, looking at a stage 3 cam but and a couple other things. I've been eyeballing the terminator x. It's a slow process but I'm learning a whole lot in the process
