I want to install an LS1 engine and auto tranny with harness and ecu into my 1999 camaro, will everthing fit, adn connect or will i have to modify anything?[/QUOI'm swaping LS6 on my 98 camaro too, so these are some of the mods you'll need to do:
V8 Engine cradle
Transmission cross member
Gas pedal and cord (on the V6 the gas pedal is electronic)
fuel tank, lines and fuel pump
if you haven't buy your LS1 and tranny yet you can get the whole pull out for about $3500 from ebay but pesonally i'm building my engine from scratch. if you have anymore questions my email is albert_boy_00@hotmail.com Good luck with your projet man!! : )

You don't need a tank. Just find a sending unit/pump assembly out of a wrecked LS1. Cut an access door behind the rear seat and install it rather than dropping the tank. The LS1 fuel pressure regulator is in the tank and the V6 is on the fuel rail. You have 2 choices a 97 vette LS1 fuel rail or just cut the line just past the fuel filter, install a "T" and and back to the tank. This is how the LS1 fuel system is set up.
I'm not sure, but if you don't have V6 sport package you may have an open differential. I would replace that. It would suck having an open differential with an LS1. If you have the 2 piece driveshaft, then you don't have the sport package. You will need to get an Z28 or SS drive shaft (aluminum).
The V6 is not throttle by wire.
But as soon as your done...
