L92 dressed like a LS3 cooling
I'm running the the biggest Be Cool alum radiator I could fit without chopping up the radiator support. 28" wide by 17" tall. Single 16" Spal fan.
For what ever reason I couldn't get the fan to turn on using the aftermarket LS engine harness. I will figure that out this winter.
So I went with my old standby which is a Painless fan control that has a sensor in a bung which I added to the radiator. But I placed the bung near the the bottom of the radiator hose that returns the coolant as it goes back to the engine. So the coolant has passed thru the radiator. But my water temp sensor is on the typical left head. It's Auto Meter gauge which I trust. So as I was cruising in town yesterday (about 70 degrees) and the temp climbed to 220-230. Made me a bit nervous but no issues driving wise. Fan did not turn on. Could it be the fan sensor is in the wrong place on the radiator? Should it be moved over on the drivers side before the coolant is cooled? That is the way my 98 Wrangler is with it's LS6/4L60E swap and has been for 15 years with zero issues.
On my 80 I'm running a Painless sensor 195 on and 185 off for fan control. I am going to order the Painless sensor 185 on 175 off to see what it does.
Any thoughts on sensor placement wise.
