98 z28 replacement engine

I recently blew my ls1 in my 98 z28 and am looking for something to replace it. I found a nice looking engine on eBay at a good price and low mileage. However, the engine is said to be a ls1 from a 2001-2003 Corvette. Does anybody have any information on how the swap would be. eBay says the engine is not compatible but I’m sure the people on here would be more knowledgeable.

The basic engines are identical. Use your throttle body, exhaust manifolds and any sensors that look different from the Vette sensors.
An LS1 is an LS1

personally I wouldn't buy a used motor unless it was guaranteed to be a good running motor without issues. Maybe consider rebuilding it yourself or buying a new short block/long block.
