I'm finishing up the interior wiring on my 36' chevy, coupe build with an LS1 swap. I am wanting to use the LED lit, reverse polarity, switches on my power door locks. These switches are constant power from battery and I don't think they will drain the battery, correct? Having a hard time imagining they would drain a battery and they can't pull much amperage.
Two ways to do it. Constant power to the bulb (LED) and goes to ground thru the door switch when opened. The other way is constant power to the switch and the LED is on the ground side. Either way if the LED is not lit, no power drain. Even if you left the door open overnight I doubt it would drain the battery enough to notice. On my '39 I had a string of LEDs, left the door open several times with no ill effects.

It's only the actual led in the lighted switch itself I am concerned over as it is constantly lit (only on the door power lock switches). The power windows I installed only light and operate when in acc or ignition. In otherwords I don't have to leave the door open for switch to illuminate as it is constant 12v. Surely the small led in the switch can't pull that much amperage. Your thoughts? Thanks for answering!
