Default Various Header Fitment Photos - swap visualization

Was not able to find a compilation when trying to figure my space constrained swap. Frame rail width was the challenge. LS is going into a 1968ish International Harvester C-series pickup, roughly the same frame width as the same gen C10

C10 swap long tubes. Passenger side kicked up and almost hit the cab so they got ruled out. Also would have sucked for clearance going back past the crossmember, you can kind of tell in pic #2. Dunno why they're designed that way. O2 sensor angle IIRC was OK. I wanted to use these, but no dice

Generic swap shorties. These fit just fine. Didn't love the flange design at the collector end, but they'd have been just fine. Almost kept these. Passenger dump pic #4 looked close to the bellhousing at first glance, but mockup with the flanged piece not shown it had plenty of room.

cheap block huggers. Would have worked, but I'm not that desperate for clearance and REALLY didn't like how close they go to the starter. Preferred the collector flange on these to the swap shorty design

Winners. Ebay cast manifolds. Fitment is good, and they look like they belong more than the shorties. Heavier but who cares on this build? Doubt there's 0.1HP difference between these and the shorty headers. My only open concern is the aftermarket dipstick may want to contact the manifold, I may have to go back to the OEM style or fab up a heatshield or something. I only replaced the OEM because it got destroyed when dropping the pan, it was seized in there

they're currently getting degreased and a coat of clear high temp paint then slapped on and the header discussion is finally done. I'm happy with the way the packaging worked out, it only took 5 sets of headers to get here.

I can't resize photos apparently. Disregard some of the text, this is a quick copy/paste from my build thread on another forum

FYI the cheap GMT800 Yukon/Silverado/Burb header set with y-pipe and outlet as one complete kit for $260ish ALMOST fit. I needed about 1" more width between the frame rails to get it to fit in there. I don't have pics handy, but part of the issue was the rear control arm mounts from the Crown Vic swap were right where I'd have cut a relief in the frame for clearance.

thank you, this is extremely helpful. it tears me up that my volvo swap doesnt have long tubes, but i have no idea how to even guess which ones fit because many manufacturers do not post photos like these.

glad they may help someone. I had the same issues. No good, clear pictures of how the headers actually fit. Which I guess I get when they're all just resellers of the same knockoffs from the same factory.

I too wanted to run long tubes, but the amount of modifying I'd have had to do was not worth the effort. Its possible some other long tube like Camaro or something would have worked, but I can't be test fitting 20 different things.

not sure if I mentioned above, but the cast manifolds may require me to go back to the OEM dipstick design. the cheap braided one shown wants to "relax" onto the header, not sure if I'll be able to hold it away
