4l80e swap question

4l80e swap question Hey folks. I've got an 07 Avalanche with LC9 5.3l and 4x4 4l60e.i might be getting a 4l80e and tCase from and 06 Sierra 2500hd. Can wires be moved from the 4l60e cylinder plug to the rectangle plug on the 4l80e shift assembly or would I have to get an aftermarket harness?

The neutral safety switch should be the same. The round case connector can be repined for the 4L80e which will give you also the second speed sensor wiring; the wiring is already there, just need rearrangement. Same at the ECU end. It's not that bad to do.

I went through a similar situation when 4l80e swapping dads 2003 suburban in regard to the transfer case. To my knowledge all 2003+ transfer cases are compatible. I assume you are asking about transfer case plug compatibility. I got a transfer case from a 2004 suburban 2500. As far as the transmission goes, you can purchase an adapter harness or move some pins around on the transmission connector. You will also need to add a turbine speed sensor connector (external, your 2007 4l60 has an internal turbine speed sensor).
There's also the option to swap the input shaft on the transfer case originally from your avalanche. From 27spline to 32spline.

@strutaeng by "cylinder plug" I was referring to the round case connector. I didn't know how else to describe it lol. I was more so confused about the neutral safety switch connector because I didn't know what it was called until now lol. I knew the harness would need pin relocating and wasn't sure if I was gonna need something else because the 4l80 has a safety switch and my 4l60 doesn't, at least not an external one. My Avalanche also has a separate TCM, would any pins need relocating on that plug?
