4L60E with Holley Terminator X Max Good day, I have a LS2 with a 4L60E in my jeep wrangler, and it seems to only shift manually into 2,3, P,N,R, but 1st and 4 does not work? (I dont have a VSS hooked up as I dont have a place to put it (kept the jeep transfer case, and had to cut off the reluctor on the output shaft of the 4L60E to put my custom build adapter on (local availability). Do the other two gears not work because I dont have the VSS, or can the holley shift the 4L60E without the VSS? Also If I go with a Transgo 4L60E full manual kit, then I definitely wouldnt need a VSS, as I would need to manual shift my trans?

Holley needs a VSS signal to shift
The manual conversions don't need it because there is no electronic input, only user lever position
You can mount an external VSS to any pinion yoke. with a SYE, you can mount it to the backside of the t-case. Jags that run sells a pretty simple laser cut reluctor and L bracket to mount the sensor. Some 2 wire ABS wheel sensors can be repurposed to VSS. Many T-case adapters offer dual speedo output to counter this very problem

Thank you very much! The Jeep JK Transfer Case does not have a prevision for it and im running a 1310 U joint Yoke, do you perhaps have a link to that laser cut rluctor and l bracket? Thank you! for your input it made it much clearer!
