L33 build Picked up an l33 the other day, it came with a set of 706 heads. With the flat top pistons, small cc combustion chamber on the 706s, and the truck Norris cam I was hoping to slap in it I’m a bit worried about valve clearance. Also planning supporting bolt ons. Seeking advice, is this a terrible setup? What would you do considering a limited budget? Anybody running this setup? What power might it make? Lmk!

Check out Richard Holdener as he tests a 5.3 fairly standard setup with the Truck Norris & other cams that will help show your likely improvements ( )

I'm running the LS6 Power Max Plus cam from Scoggin Dickey in my LC9 and it runs great. It's a 220/222 with .570" max lift made for LS3 springs.

Those heads (mildly ported and performance valve job), as much compression as you can run for the fuel in your area (alum block/heads LS supports 11:1 easy on 91 and around 12:1 on 93), headers, LS6 intake manifold (great bang for the buck or Trailblazer if it fits), healthy cam should make very close to 380-400rwhp depending on transmission.
What vehicle is it going into and intended use? In something light that would be a very fun combo.
