1998 Firebird LT1 swap I recently picked up a 1998 V6 firebird for a project for my 13 year old daughter and I. I was planning to do a LS3/6L80 swap but I am now floating the idea of buying a wrecked 6th gen Camaro SS and pulling the complete engine and transmission. Has anyone done this conversion yet or am I diving into uncharted territory. I know the ls3/6l80 or 4l80 would be much easier and probably much cheaper but i like a challenge. The car will essentially be a brand new car when we are done. I also plan to use the 6th gen seats, brakes, and am looking at bmr for the k-member and suspension upgrades

While I'm not rich, I'm not really worried about the money side of things with it. I already know going into it that I'm probably going to spend 30-40k on a car that in the end is just a v6 according to its vin. I'm doing it more so as a good experience for my daughters and I. It will be both of their first car, as long as one of them doesn't wreck it. So i guess my goal is to stay under 40k for everything, paint, engine/trans swap, suspension, a 12 bolt, brakes, and interior. But if I go over budget, it is what it is. I was more so looking to see if anyone has successfully done this swap. My biggest concern is making all the electronics work as they should. I would like to use a stock trans am gauge cluster if possible. I know there are companies out there that can build me a harness and delete the vats stuff on the stock ecu but im also considering going with something after market like Holly to control everything and tune it.
