Default Mocking up headers - need to grind block?

Hello
I have a new crate LS3 up on my stand and I'm checking fitment on a few things, on the drivers side of the block there is a mounting boss that comes into contact with my header tube, I could dent the header, but it's better to just grind about 1/4" off this "mystery boss". Can anybody confirm what this boss is meant for?

Also some of the OEM spark plug boots come into contact with my headers, so I was hoping for a recommendation on stock length wires that have a hi temp sleeved boot angled at about 45°.

I don't see an issue grinding a bit off the mounting boss.
Spark plug wire wise I would go with 45 degree but still keep the stock tin heat shields

MSD Super Conductor wires are great and you can bend into positions to get the wire away from the primaries. The 2500° wire heat shield sleeves for spark plug wires are way better than those aluminum heat shields from GM. I've used them in the past and found them to be a PITA to remove.

Yeah those GM ones are a PITA to remove and put on. I was looking at some with a ceramic boot but some reviews say they are brittle.
When I checked Summit for MSD Super Conductor the description doesn't mention a temp rating for them.
Are these the ones your talking about? The spark plug boot on them is straight but you say they will hold a bend?

Correct, you can bend them to position the wire away from the primaries.

These fit most swap headers. Those bendy wires are great at the start but have a hard time staying tight after a few clicks on/off
