Picked up a 2005 LQ4 6.0 for a swap into my 51 Pontiac. Finally getting around to cleaning up the intake and discovered one of the injectors is missing the black plastic cap (Pintle Cap??) at the bottom. The lower O-ring was in place. What is the function of these caps and is it something that needs to be replaced? All remaining 7 are secure on their respective injectors.

Mostly keeps the O ring from falling into the port. Some replacement o rings come with the caps. They sometimes gets stuck when removing the injectors.
