Apologies if this has been answered, i couldnt find anything relating to my issue in the search

Im looking to put a 4l80 behind my 05 4.8 and am unsure the years that are compatible. I know 99-07 for sure but ive found a 09 for a good price but want to make sure it will work with the PCM. Ive seen some conflicting stuff saying they may use the separate ECM/TCM. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks

 

Any 1994+ unit will work. The only difference on the earlier units (94-96) is the cooler line fitting, but the line can be reworked so that's not an issue.

Pre-99 units will not have the top LS Bell housing bolt hole, but again that's not a problem.
