short starter i am wrapping up a porsche cayman s ls3 swap. i am having an issue with the starter and dipstick tube clearance. the rear sump pan i have to use has the dipstick at the rear of the pan. i have a starter thats about 7 inches long, and it just barely hits the tube where it enters the pan, and i cant get the starter to swing in enough to mount well. it works but only the outside bolt goes in because of the slight angle of the starter being pushed out by the dipstick tube.
i just got one of the high torque mini starters from autozone and it was longer than mine. i need somethng only about 6" long to clear. anyone have any ideas? i have searched and the thread i found was only referencing factory starters, and i think i have the shortest factory one avialable
