Default C6Z Ls7 to Ls3 swap questions??

Im sure some of you will think this is treason 😆 but I picked up an 06 Z06 with no motor. I want to swap an Ls3 into it. I've done quite a bit of research on this but was looking for some input from those who have actually done this swap. Everything looks like a pretty straight forward swap. I'll be going wet sump, and I've read that I'll need roughly a .400 spacer to bolt up the t56 to the ls3 because the ls7 snout in longer. Can anyone confirm this and recommend vendors who sell what I need?

Yes, you need the spacer. The LS7 crank has a longer snout. Texas Speed and Tick Performance sell the .400" spacer kit you need for the T56 bellhousing. It's a straightforward swap otherwise.

Crank Snout and the back of the Crank are two whole different things. The Transmission is in the back of the Corvette on the other end of the Torque Tube, so tell me how it bolts on the back of the Engine with a "spacer"..

Did the terminology change on Engine parts in the last week or so? I missed it.

LS7 has a longer Crank Snout because of the Dual Oil Pump for the Dry Sump. Has absolutely nothing to do with a Crank Spacer that goes on the BACK of the Engine.

I'm stating that off of what is said above until I'm shown otherwise.

A GrandSport C6 is a c6z with an LS3. Both are drysump cars. If I were you ls1 charged, I’d find a drysump pan and simply drysump the LS3. I realize the dry sump oil pump is hard to find, but they are out there. I’ve got one on the shelf. I see LOTS of Oem drysump oil pans in the classifieds, on here AND on Corvette Forum. A wetsump C6Z will be worth Pennie’s on the dollar for resale. Do it right. You won’t regret it.

That's what I would do, hopefully everything in the engine bay is intact for that.
