Default Fusible Links - Yeh or Ney????

When I got my motor and trans for my swap I was able to get all the extra wiring that was on the truck (2005 Savanna 3500). It had fusible links on the heavy alternator wire and another heavy gauge wire running to an auxiliary accessory fuse block. Never had fusible links in any of my other vehicles, so was wondering whether or not to keep them. My only concern is if they are in there and fail, I'm screwed. But if they failed there's potentially a serious issue with my wiring. What are you thoughts??

Thanks for any input received. Cheers!!!

I don't care for them. If possible, I'll add an inline fuse holder or reroute the wires to a better spot. Otherwise, let sleeping dogs lie

The overwhelming majority of fusible links I've replaced failed due to age, not electrical fault. As long as you don't do something stupid like pinch a power cable, they're usually fine

I prefer replaceable Fuses in a Fuse Box.
