LS Chevelle
My son is installing a Gen 3 LS 5.3 with a 4L60E in a ’69 Chevelle, and I’m trying to help him get it sorted. I can handle the install work, but I’m still getting up to speed on the PCM side of things. I’ve been told to run an 0411 PCM and convert the throttle body from drive-by-wire to drive-by-cable.
What ECU are you running? I’m trying to keep this a budget build for now, get it running, and then upgrade and clean everything up later. My main headaches at the moment are the EFI fuel system conversion and figuring out the PCM setup. Does switching to a drive-by-cable throttle make things simpler, or is it better to source the matching pedal and keep it drive-by-wire?

Hello,
Not true. There's plenty of assistance right here. Your choice of a 0411 PCM is good and I also like drive-by-cable. Are you re-pinning a red / blue connector junk yard wiring harness or buying one all new? I have bought two swap harnesses new from "PSI Conversions" because the donor truck harnesses were too chafed, melted, brittle or missing connectors to be worth the risk. An all new engine harness eliminates many, many variables in getting your engine to run in the swapped vehicle. But hey, there will likely be plenty of people that join this conversation that will disagree with me.
You can do free tuning of your powertrain control module using "Tuner Pro RT" to edit the tune and "PCM Hammer" to write the tune to your 0411 device. There's a ton of spot on good advice on You Tube about Tuner Pro RT and PCM Hammer.
I used the Holley LS swap A-body engine mounts and a set of Hooker Holley A-body headers on my '70 El Camino. Also, that truck oil pan is way too low to the ground so most of us buy a Holley 302-X oil pan. I picked the 302-3 for my El Camino and a 302-5 for my Catalina. Yet, there are certainly other choices for oil pans.
The truck power steering pump pulley will barely hit the steering gear box on an A-body Chevelle - your '69 is no exception. A Chevy S-10 PS pump pulley will solve that problem and I can get you the part number when you need it.
I'm running an EFI fuel tank and pump from "Tanks.Inc" with a Wix 33737 filter and regulator assembly.

I laughed out loud at this one. FakeBook is dying because of the drama, and people are starting to come back to the forums. Plenty of help here. There’s prolly been a dozen or so chevelles alone ls swapped here. Hundreds if not thousands of ls swapped “everything else” around here. Lots of knowledge and help. Be patient…it’s the holidays.
The guy posting that is a troll and needs to be silenced..not the first time he's posted what he did. He's a social media warrior, not a wrench turner.
As far as installing a Gen III 0411 PCM and Engine in a 69 Chevelle, or anything else really, it'd be the same as any of us who did it with anything else. Plenty of build threads in here to get the idea. Mount it, wire it, tune it, send it...
Shut your **** you turd.
