Default Wire loom

Whats a good brand? I need some 2 inch wire loom, about 3 feet or so and the crap i got from amazon just sucks. I used some of that flexible stuff and i had a heat gun near some of it and it just shriveled up within seconds so im not going to trust it on several 700 mile trips. Says its fire retardant but I don't think thats right haha

It might be best to tag up with a local (or not) electrical supply house that does a lot of automotive electrical. You'll likely find what you need.

Grote makes some OEM quality stuff; I get it by the foot from the local HD/ Truck parts store.
O'Reilly and Autozone also sell it by the foot, but you have to ask for it. Beware that depending on which supplier they got it from, it might be that shitty kind like you already have.

Just feel how it is when you pinch/ squeeze it. The Grote is really hard, some of the other stuff isn't.

In regards to wire loom are you looking at the braided type? That's all I use but keep it away from all heat sources. Painless makes some pretty nice stuff.
But great thought on the local HD truck repair place. We have two of them locally.

Most loom will burn with heat, there is many different types depends what your trying to accomplish. I use the Amazon loom all the time with wiring harness tape, the high temp one with the adhesive fabric and if i have anything close to exhaust i use the aluminized sleeve heat shield, its like the factory wrap that comes on the starter wires.

The better wire loom has a white stripe through it. Forgot where I bought it, but if I remember correctly it is rated to 125C or 150C, much more than you engine area should ever reach outside of exhaust.

HFT5000 is a heat shrink fabric, I did my harness with. I really like the way it turned out. I used standard heat shrink to terminate each end of the HFT5000.
Goggle it, if you interested, I can share some pictures.
