need a little info Hey everybody. My buddy has a 1993 gmc 1500(diesel). He recently found out that (I might be wrong) the injector system is out? Anyways I told him that I would post here for him to find out how difficult it would be to change over to LS1. I don't know diesels so if anyone has knowledge of these things please chime in. Any help is appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

He might be ok with it, just doesn't know diesels. I imagine that the swap would be a little more difficult, but not impossible. Do a search (use the advanced feature for sure) you should be able to find some info.

Fixing the injector system is in his budget and knowhow, but he has doubts on doing it because something else will probably crap out. He wouldnt even be considering it if it werent for the new paint and interior he did. It has got to be the cleanest 93 gmc I have seen(factory looking anyways).
OK, if he's technically knowledgeable the swap isn't bad. Mine wasn't any harder than the previous swap from Cross Fire Injection to TPI, same elements involved...fuel system, electrical system, cooling, etc.
If it's a 4WD platform, he'd likely be better off buying a truck engine/trans/xfer case complete. www.car-parts.com shows plenty of them around the country, nice 6.0L iron block engines.
Just need accurate wiring diagrams of the recipient vehicle, and donor engine harness.
