Default Debating a 93V6 to Ls1 Swap please help.

okay I am not new to engine swaps, but would be when it comes to an American. 4 cylinders and Wankles noproblem, but Americans are new to me. My first car, a 93 V6 Camaro lays dead and without an engine in my garage. Now that I am out of college and have a job it seems like the right time to start this project. I am just wondering what I need and an estimate on price. I know I will need a lot of new stuff (well used, but new to my car). Also wondering about the wiring nightmare that may ensue when trying to put the 97 or 98 dash I bought (been so long I can't even remeber the year)in the car. I have an idea of what I need, but any help, or suggestions on what to buy and where to go would be much appreciated. A full run down would be great too, to make sure I am not missing anything. Thanks in advance.

You should expect to pay in the range or $3000 to $5000 for a drivetrain depending on condition and mileage. The rest of the items depend on how much you plan to replace. Your best bet would be to go to an auction and buy a totalled LS1 car and swap over everrything that you need including the wiring and anything else.

Not a bad idea on that auction, never thought of that. Do you know how I might be able to find those. I have seen a few pay sites, but not too sure if they can be trusted. Thanks for the info. As an addition to the previous post, how hard would putting a corvette ls1 in, would the computer stuff turn out okay, or would I be asking for even more wiring issues?

the Corvette LS1 isn't a good idea . different crank pulley , different alternator , plus you really couldn't use the 'Vette tranny or rear axle without serious modifications. you'd still need an f-body PCM and suspension components so sticking with a totalled F-body is the better way to go. another thought is buy a totalled LT1 f-body which could be had a LOT cheaper than an LS1 car. not as many horsies but you could do a few mods and get close to it easily.
