HELP! installing f-body master in 55 chevy

I need some guidance, I am at the point where I need to install the master cylinder and pushrod in my 55 chevy. Has anyone done this before? I have heard you can use the original hole for the mecahnical linkage, but I'm not sure which way to go. Thanks for the help.

All you really need to do is make sure your angle is correct and you have full travel.

does the rod need to be straight so when the pedal is pushed, it will go straight in and out? or is it at a slight angle? My firewall is completely flat, so if it has to be at an angle, I am guessing I will have to mount it in a lower position. Thanks for any help!!!

You just need to make sure that wherever the attach point to your pedal is, that the rod is kept perpendicular (at a 90 degree angle) to the clutch master cylinder.
