1 person doing a motor swap can get frustrating. I would suggest getting 1 hole lined up with motor mount to frame mount and put a bolt through it, then try to finess the other side to line up as well. It may take a pry bar, if you're doing it yourself, or give a call to a friend to help manuever the motor.

I had to have a friend stand on the driver side to get it to go down. It's definely a two man job.

How far off is it? 1/8", 1/4" ?

on the solid mounts that i have, i could get one whole to line up, and the other one was all the way on the frame mount, but was no where near the whole. it would of had to go down and to the left! i dont know what could be wrong with it other than i dont have the right mounts on there!?!

On the old 'birds, didn't they have multiple holes in the frame rails? Are you sure you have the frame mounts in the same spot/holes?

there is only one way to put the frame mount on though! there is an extra whole but it gets covered up by the mount!

Try to post some pictures. Might be easier to see the problem.
