Default quick question about Power steering cooler

The fbody PS cooler isn't gonna work in my application because of the lack of room I have in the front of the motor. I was thinking of maybe using a smaller transmission cooler instead of the fbody unit. Will this work ok? I would tend to think so as long as you have the cooler on the return side of the system but I just wanted to check. Thanks

Default p/s cooler

If this is a stock S-10 steering gear you probably won't need a p/s cooler. The F-body needed the cooler because of it's rack & pinion gear with fairly wide tires......the S-10 runs a recirculating ball gear and fluid temperatures run much lower than anything with rack & pinion. I'd run it without and just keep an eye on it but I've seen many conversions with no p/s cooler.
