ls1 in a Mitsubishi steath or eclipse? Has this been done by anyone yet?Looked at a 92 Steath 2 days ago and really liked the car,its fwd though.Looked like enough room for ls1 mounted inline with the car,steath "s motor is mounted crossways.Also would have to do rearend for rwd for sure!!

Not a big interior either but fine for my 5"8 frame. awd is not as great as everyone thinks though... all you have to do is put slicks on a v8 and you will launch just as good and most of the time better than awd. just my opinion, but whatever floats your boat. if you do go through with it, good luck!

The Miata thing would be cool, but all of the weight would be over the front end. My dad has a '69 Datsun 2000 (Fairlady Z in Japan) with a small block Chevy in it. It's a wild ride even with the semi-mild 350. Runs mid 12's with the tires spinning into mid third gear (muncie 4 speed). He had to push the motor back 6" just to get any kind of traction. The car weighs somewhere around 2300-2400 pounds with him in it. It's fun to see people's reaction though when they see that it has a V8 instead of the 2.0 liter 4-banger it originally came with.
