Oil Pan Got my oil pan back from the welder. Came out pretty good. I would highly reccommend him if you are in norca and are going to do your own. The place is in Mountain View, CA called Advanced Welding, the guys is into hot rods and old motorcycles, he also does motorcycle welding. Real nice guy too.
Now I can keep the factory bracing on the pickup tube and windage tray which also functions as a brace. And for less then half the cost of buying one online, but I did cut the pan myself and welded the pickup tube myself as well.
One question, the bottom of the pan says alignment is critical, but I don't see any locating pins, what do they mean by this?

I actually cut too much out, I think I could have gotten away with about 30% less front to back, then I could have used the stock pickup tube without any modification, shoot I wouldn't have even had to remove it. Like they say, hindsight is 20-20.

Actually that oil pan to bellhousing spec is almost nothing, the factory book calls for 002", they just don't want unnecessary stress on the pan or the bellhousing. Very nice job!!
