third gen fuel tank question Are there any differences between a fuel injected and carbureted 82-92 camaro fuel tank? I want to put an in tank fuel pump type sender in my 84 carbureted tank to feed my Ls1.

Yea I think there is cuz wouldnt a caburated fuel pump not be controled electronically? Doesnt it run on vacuum or something else? Im not really a caburator master, but im pretty sure their not the same...you may have to get a new gas tank or at least a fuel pump and level set up from a fuel injected model...I would ask someone who knows about caburated engines how they draw the gas from the tank...

The carbureted engine used a standard mechanical pump mounted on the engine. I know I will have to get a new fuel injected style sender and probably will have to use an aftermarket high volume pump. The thing I'm not sure of is the hole diameter for the two different senders the same? Will the fuel injected sender even fit in the carbureted tank? Does the fuel injected tank have baffles in it to keep fuel near the pickup as where the carbureted fuel injected tank does not? Thank You for any info provided.

The fuel injector sender should be the same size as the carburated sender...the hole diameter was maybe 3"+- from what a I remember... If ya have a pic of the carburated tank I can probably see if its generally the same.
