vats question and starter wire question???

vats question and starter wire question??? Before the ls1 swap my truck had a fuel pump relay that just ran off of key on power and stayed on any time the key was on. This worked fine for 2 years with a carbed motor. If this would work with the ls1 would i even have to worry about the vats? Also, if i have to use vats and i disable it with ls1 edit, would i still have to have the wire in my harness? Second question is can i use the existing solenoid wire on my truck since it is wired through a firewall mounted solenoid and pull the starter wire out of the ls1 harness? I see no reason for it to be tied in with any pcm stuff, but just wanted to make sure. thanks in advance.
1(a). Yes. The vats turns the injectors on/off, not the fuel pump. If the PCM dosent see the VATS signal after 2 seconds, then it will shut off the injectors.
1(b). You dont have to use the Vats, you can delete it. Kinda confused on that one. And yes you can pull the wire out if its deleted, but why go through the trouble?
