.....should he put the camaro/vette 5.7 or should he go with the 6L truck version? I'd say he go with the 6 liter, because as i understand it there's not a whole lot of difference between the two, his truck is not as aerodynamic as the cars and the extra cubes would help that....btw is there an easy way to identify between the LQ4 and the LQ9?? He's not really worried about the weight, the difference between the 6.0 and the Vortech 355 w/steel aftermarket heads its probly going to be minimal, he might actually lose a little weight.

where is this ls1 for so cheap? im looking for an ls1 to put in my first gen. i wanted one with a lot of miles anyways as i am going to be replacing rotating assebly anyways.
i have not looked around much, but is that a good price for the ls1? or is that the norm. seems to me like that is cheap.

I think that a junkyard is a pretty good place to get one, usually the engine is in good shape (is not like a blown engine had anything to do with the vehicle getting totalled.) Most of the junkyards have a return policy (but make sure and ask about their return policy), so if you put it in and it is blown, you can take it back. The junkyard I was referring to is off of N.Shepard Dr. (if i remember right) in Houston. Give one of them a call, if they dont have one...have them "Run" it for you. Hope this helps. If ya want some more info PM me.
