Hi
Based in UK
I have a Westfield Seight with a 3.9 Rover (Buick) engine, which weighs 700kg
http://www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk
Looking for more power, I can either spend lots of money on Rover upgrades, or a fairly standard LS1 conversion?
Need to do some searchs on website to find how to link LS1 to T5 box (must have been done hundreds of times before)
Lots of questions
1) Gearbox - Have been told the 6 speed is considerably heavier than T5 gearbox and gear change is sluggish (urban myth or not)
if urban myths, need to find dimentions, to see if it will fit in my transmission tunnel, and gear stick location.
2) T5 - I know this will fit, is it strong enough (for upto 400bhp)
3) T5 - Are different ratios available (which cars to I need to look for to have a very long first gear)
4) How does T5 join with engine? Directly or via special bell housing.(where from - cost)
5) What clutch set up (where from - cost)
6) Lighten flywheel, by how much weight?
7) What spec of fuel pump needed.
8) What capacity radiator is needed for cooling
9) what differential do you recommend - guess my Ford Sierra LSD could be marginal?
10) GM ecu - adequate?
Regards
Kevin
